As of December 31, 2019, guangxi's coastal railways transported a total of 66.11 million tons of goods, including 5,665.66 million tons of goods, up 12.7 percent year on year. In the western part of China, the new sea-land corridor and the sea-rail intermodal train transported 1.147 million tons of cargo, up 163% year on year, both setting new records.


In 2019, the state and relevant provinces and municipalities continuously intensified the construction of new land and sea corridors in the western region. The general plan for new land and sea corridors in the western region and the revised policy measures for accelerating the construction of new land and sea corridors in the western region of guangxi were issued one after another. Under the strong drive of the new land and sea passage in the west, the port cargo transportation is climbing.


The guangxi coastal railway is the gateway of the new land-sea channel and the key junction of the main road. In 2019, in order to break the bottleneck in the development of freight trains along the new land-sea corridor in western China and meet the investment needs of domestic and foreign merchants, the coastal railway companies will coordinate the resources of all parties and speed up the construction of key railway projects such as qinzhou railway container handling station, southern defense electrification, and railway dedicated lines of sinopec at tieshan port. After the first phase of qinzhou railway container center station was put into use, the annual container handling capacity reached 1.05 million teu and the daily handling capacity reached 20 lines. The traction kinetic energy of the southern defense line was increased from the previous 4500 tons/column to 4700 tons/column of SS3 type and 5000 tons/column of HXD1C type, which compressed the transportation time by about 20%, further unblocked the main passage of cargo to the sea, released the transportation potential and met the cargo transportation demand of the port.

At the same time, the guangxi coastal railway company plays the role of the railway as a transport artery between China and asean, exchanges and cooperates with industry associations, local enterprises and economic parks to mobilize multiple resources, and jointly plans to promote the special railway lines into enterprises and freight services into the park, so as to build a win-win situation for road enterprises to jointly build and share. It has been cooperating with logistics parks in sichuan and chongqing, fangchenggang city in guangxi and dongwan park, and added 2 regular sea-rail combined transport routes throughout the year. At present, the cold chain lines have covered 7 provinces, autonomous regions and cities such as yunnan, guizhou, sichuan, liaoning, chongqing and Beijing. The freight trains for the new land-sea corridor in western China increased from two a day at the beginning of last year to eight a day by the end of this year, reaching 90 countries and regions, 190 ports and 81 cargo transport categories.


In addition, the company continued to deepen the supply-side structural reform, strengthened the interconnection and cooperation with the beibu bay port authority, established the joint office system between the two sides, realized data sharing, shortened the average handover time of each train by 6 hours, and the maximum handover train in a single day was up to 30. By holding road and port coordination meetings and conducting joint field research, the two sides have effectively promoted the "seamless docking" between ports and railways, and opened up the "major artery" of the new land and sea routes in the west.
