On January 7, China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP) and Jingdong Group jointly released the 2024 China E-Commerce Logistics Index. The data shows that the average value of China's e-commerce logistics index in 2024 is 113.7 points, an increase of 3.6 points compared with 2023, which is a record high in the past seven years. This data signifies that the scale of China's e-commerce logistics market has continued to expand, the supply capacity and service level have been significantly improved, and the market activity has been significantly strengthened.

From the demand side, thanks to the online consumer market boom of the New Year's Day holiday, the total business volume index maintained an increase of more than 30%. Hu Enthalpy, Director of Logistics Statistics Department of China Logistics Information Center, introduced that in the 12 months of 2024, the e-commerce logistics index realized the trend of “nine up and three down”, and hit a new high in November, a single-month high in the past seven years. Among the sub-indices, the annual average values of the fulfillment rate index, personnel index, satisfaction rate and actual load rate index all reached new high levels since 2018.


  He Hui, vice president of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, said that the total business index, inventory turnover times index, capital turnover index, equipment utilization index, fixed asset investment completion index and personnel index were all in the expansion range, showing the strong momentum of the logistics industry.


  Looking ahead to 2025, China's e-commerce logistics industry is expected to continue to grow steadily as policies continue to promote and the market continues to develop. From the perspective of the overall logistics industry, China's social logistics demand is expected to be boosted, logistics operation will maintain a moderate growth trend, and the overall logistics costs are expected to be steadily reduced, helping the economy continue to rebound and improve.
